The Batcave Shadow Box (76252) has been revealed!

Batman has always been one of my favorite superheroes and so I was very excited to see the reveal of this set! I think the designers did a really wonderful job capturing the bat logo as the outline, a task that is easier to accomplish at this scale.

At a first glance this set reminds me of the Super Mario 64 Question Mark Block (71395) since it's a large single colored box that opens up. The interior looks pretty rocky (as I would expect a Batcave to look), but there are plenty of details as well as a sleek looking Batmobile. 

The minifigure selection is modest, although I think each figure has been carefully designed to match the likeness of the actors. The set includes Max Shreck, the Penguin, Catwoman, Bruce Wayne, Alfred Pennyworth and two versions of Batman. I'm a huge fan of Batman's flowy cape here!

The set releases June 8th for the public and June 5th for VIP members. The part count is 3,981 pieces and retails for $399.99 USD. Truthfully the price seems steep, but considering the sheer volume of parts it's not unreasonable. My concern with this set is that the actual building experience may not be all that fun.
